We have already partnered with over 500 brands and scored thousands of products… and we are just getting started. We have ambitious plans to bring impact transparency to every consumer product in the world.

About the role

We are home to a unique methodology for evaluating product-level impacts.

This role will be responsible for further developing this state-of-the-art tool. This involves improving the accuracy of scoring by: looking out for better data collection mechanisms, aligning our approaches with current industry standards, designing methods of evaluating new product system elements and helping to expand the best available practices in product-level assessments.

Here is what you would do:

  • Use existing databases, academic research and your own problem-solving skills to improve the logic of our calculations and pre-screening mechanisms

  • Design the scoring logic for new upcoming components (eg. new product categories, new and emerging fields of assessment that we are not yet covering)

  • Assist with the documentation and implementation of new solutions (translate the ideas from domain-expert language to coder-friendly language)

  • Other scoring-related requests, such as preparing analyses based on the pulls from internally generated data, quality check on the expansion of our ecolabels and materials databases, improving the Planetary Savings and Planetary Budget features

About you

The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker, enjoying solving problems with data, and translating complex findings to a clear logical flow and communicating insights to team members and partners in simple and easy to understand language.

If you have…

  • 2-4 years of experience in research-heavy work
  • ability to smoothly navigate the key sustainability topics and their co-dependencies, including both environmental and social dimensions (especially: GHG emissions, water systems, biodiversity, circular economy and flows of materials, social aspects of consumerism)
  • Background in industrial ecology/ environmental engineering or similar field of study, preferably with a strong inclination towards chemistry, material engineering or toxicology
  • Background in ecotoxicity or public health effects of ecotoxicity a bonus
  • Basic understanding of the currently available environmental impact assessment methodologies (eg. LCA, carbon footprinting, GHG accounting etc.)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and basic Python skills
